    GENERAL

Fires at work or home are devastating and can cause substantial personal hardship, including injury or loss of life. A fire needs only three components to start, heat (ignition source), fuel (flammable liquid or oil, paper, cardboard, material) and oxygen.

We can only really control heat and fuel, as oxygen is everywhere. It is the potential risk associated with heat and fuel that is not immediately obvious that is of greatest concern. Any electrical item can become a source of heat/ignition.

When we conduct fire awareness training sessions, we try to focus on prevention of fire as the primary objective, as we believe this where the best impact is. It is important to carry out risk analyses of potential fire risk as part of your OH&S audit by identifying and managing potential fuel and heat. This we call ‘good housekeeping’.

Remember these rules apply at home as well as at work or in your business.

If you have any further question or would like to discus fire awareness training please contact for additional information and costings.
